Great post! Thanks for sharing it. For me, this has always been one of the most interesting battles of WWII. Also, one of my favorite WWII movies. Right up there with Patton!

Jimmy Carter was in the Navy during WWII.

Jimmy Carter graduated from the Naval Academy in 1946 so I’m not sure how many action he actually saw.
