We’re not talking to ourselves
Or the things on closet shelves
Some day we hope you’ll learn
When we’re finished, it’s your turn.
Please don’t interupt us
When you rush in with abruptness.
Ifwe speak its merely noise
You don’t cutoff men or boys.
Why is it ok
To dismiss anything we say?
The day is coming mister,
From your wife, your boss, your sister
When your ears will finally hear
Our message loud and clear:
Listen when we speak
Or fresh pastures we will seek.
