Here I expect things to start turning brown soon. We’re having another heat wave, not as hot as the one at the end of June, but still hot. And that’s on top of a serious drought. BC interior has serious fires. I think Homo sapiens has broken the planet.
Great. Can’t wait for my favourite time of the year to arrive. The leaves start to change colour, it starts to get dark at a proper time, and homo sapiens starts to begin thinking about hibernating too.
Hmm…may be a combination of those. But beautiful colours!

Sure wish I thought you were wrong but I can’t. 😢

Interesting question. Normally the changing colours are due to the shortening of the days, but perhaps not this year

I think this is earlier than usual.

It’s been a while since it rained. That’s got to be a factor. Good haiku.

Think it’s drought and heat, GP
This isn’t normal.

I think the responsibility belongs to both of them

The beautiful colours of autumn…I remember that change in NY coming more in October…

We usually get fall colors mid through late October (some years as late as early December). This is too early.

Yes it is…well, it’s a changing world, a “mixed up muddled up shook up world except for Lola” (The Kinks)

Thoughtful, Malc. There are several homo sapiens I would love to not see or hear from indefinitely.

Yes, it is 48 degrees F. this morning. I don’t want summer to end but yet I love the cool nights and morning. I can’t pick which one I like more. 🙂

Sandra, I totally agree with you. Our current heatwave should break tomorrow.
