  1. Very interesting post and phrases, one of which (“Lie low”) has been taken to excess by none other than Donald Trump, who lies low, down, sideways, and every other way. This calls to mind “Oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive,” which sounds Shakespearean, but was actually authored by Sir Walter Scott.

  2. Brilliant. I’ve always enjoyed Shakespeare. Sharing this kind of information – especially to second level students who tend to despise learning anything remotely related to the man – is a great way to illustrate how contemporary Shakespeare was. Thanks.
