National Pumpkin Day recognizes a favored autumn decoration and food on October 26th. Not only do they make great fall decorations, but the pumpkin also completes a variety of tasty recipes.
This squash is native to North America. The oldest evidence of pumpkin-related seeds dates back to somewhere between 7000 and 5500 BC to seeds found in Mexico.
Pumpkin season started late in the summer With PSL, not to be a late-comer Soon it appeared in pancakes and pies Sometimes snuck by in some other disguise Not just as food, but house decorations Celebrating the harvest and fall celebrations Reigning supreme until late November Then swept out by Christmas when we get to December.
What a delicious poem! Wonderful pics, the dog in the pumpkin outfit is such a cutie! š»

Thanks, Sam. The dog was Maddy and she was a cutie. Unfortunately, she passed away this year after being bit by a husky. She was an emotional support animal and I interviewed Maddy and her owner Nan a few times.

Lovely colours of the season and a fun poem. Pumpkins are still relative newcomers to our celebrations, but I’m showing my age because apparently we’ve been using them now for about 20-30 years – it was turnips when I was young.

Welcome back. Glad you liked it. Turnips sound quite traditional.

Love pansies with pumpkins:)

They look good together and both symbolize fall, although people more often associate pansies with spring, I think.

I think that depends on your location. In Michigan, they were more for spring, but in NC and TX more common in the fall.

Here they are more of a fall into winter plant, although as soon as they become available in March, people buy them to either refurbish or start their spring planting.
