They do not want us to know what they are up to… I am going to check it out of the library to read before it gets removed (not that I have heard that it is being banned locally.) This is a crying shame when the values of a small portion of the population can dictate what the majority are allowed to do. Thanks, GP.
Cutting librarians and therefore libraries, is something unthinkable! What is going on? An ignorance strike! Knowledge is the only thing that has elevated us as a species…
You are absolutely correct, Malc. The rancor that is seen every day shows how much is misinterpreted by both the right and the left. Over here, Woke is a very divisive issue even though nobody seems to know what Woke means (neither the side described as Woke or the side that opposes it). Maybe it’s sort of like the old definition of pornography–I can’t define it but I can recognize it when I see it.

If you check the list of classic books that are banned, Bradbury’s is on there! Pitiful!

In history we know that that’s how many a dictatorship began.

The “dumbing down” of America continues perforce….
But, for the right wing, it’s simply a matter ‘of course.’

Reading is knowledge. Whst worries me sometimes though Pat is that words can conveniently be misinterpreted

Great anaology Pat. One of the difficulties of writing is conveying what you mean without it being taken the wrong way.

I love the quote: “I find television very educational. When someone switches it on,
I go to another room and read a book.”

It’s a scary thought. I know so few young people who read, and most of those are from far away places. (I “met” them on the internet.)

Maybe they have been more successful than we thought. Children need to read some social media. Thanks for commenting, Priscilla.
