Some people continue to deny the truth, no matter what war or conflict is being fought. My least favorite group are the Holocaust deniers.
B-29 air raid damage in Hachioji, Japan, 1 Aug. 1945
The End and the Beginning
After every war
someone has to clean up.
Things won’t
straighten themselves up, after all.
Someone has to push the rubble
to the side of the road,
so the corpse-filled wagons
can pass.
GI hooks a tow rope to a Type 97 Te-Ke tank during cleanup of the Okinawa battlefields at the end of WWII in 1945.
Someone has to get mired
in scum and ashes,
sofa springs,
splintered glass,
and bloody rags.
Someone has to drag in a girder
to prop up a wall,
Someone has to glaze a window,
rehang a door.
Photogenic it’s not,
and takes years.

I’ve always been amazed that anyone can actually believe that didn’t happen.
Sigh… although there’s been plenty of denial going on for years now…
Hugs on the wing.

Heavy sigh indeed. In the 21st century, we are still denying science, but I have not hear anyone deny evolution in a while. History is often denied because the winner usually determines how it was written. Hugs back at you.

Pat – I loved this. Being married to a Jew whose family was wiped out at Auschwitz , I like you have a special dislike for “deniers.”

I have often wondered what is wrong with the likes of the Holocaust Deniers, but I’ve never found an answer that makes sense…..probably because when people are sick in the head, there is no explanation that makes sense.

Now I see why the German population were marched through the death camps to see for themselves, after the war. Too bad these deniers have (presumably) had no such experience.

Probably not. Some, I can understand even if I totally disagree
Others make me wonder what planet they are from.

I left a comment on GP’s bog that compares this to your post on the forgotten airplane mechanic.
Like you, I feel the holocaust deniers are the worst. And today’s COVID deniers spring from the same cesspool.
