Thanks, Audrey. I had been noticing those hay bales for a few months and finally had my cellphone to take a picture of the lush grass growing out of bales that were used for seating in a backyard last fall.

I have often watched old bales moldering in fields for years, Glad to see they are able to turn over a new leaf. Have a good day Pat. allan

It was a surprise to me so see it. Not sure if it was luck, not being bound too tight, or maybe having a mild winter. Thanks for commenting, Allan, Happy Saturday.

Thanks, Andrea. Somehow the approach of Earth Day, escaped me when I wrote the poem after finally remembering to get a picture of the grass that has been growing on those hay bales for over a month.
